El más exitoso número de álbumes de un solista británico es para Robbie Williams. Cuando su álbum Rudebox encabezó las listas del Reino Unido el 4 de noviembre de 2006, le dio su N°81 como artista en solitario – que equivale a un registro establecido en 1993 por David Bowie (Reino Unido). A diferencia de Bowie, Williams se apuntó tres N°1 como miembro del grupo Take That

Triunfante retorno de Robbie Williams para recibir el premio “Destacada Contribución a la Música” en la 30° Ceremonia de los BRITs

 

La asociación musical del Reino Unido, el BPI, entregó a Robbie Williams el prestigioso premio Destacada Contribución a la Música.

 

Robbie Williams ha ganado más BRITs que cualquier otro artista. Antes de la 30° Ceremonia, Ged Doherty,  presidente del comité de los BRITs dijo: ”Robbie es uno de los destacados artistas y cantantes de su generación. Será una emoción absoluta tenerlo en el show del 30° aniversario de los BRITs recibiendo el premio a la Destacada Contribución. Estamos encantados”.                

 

Con una carrera de veinte años en el tope de los charts, Robbie Williams hizo su primera aparición en 1989 como miembro de Take That. Como solista la carrera de Robbie fue estratosférica vendiendo más discos en el Reino Unido que cualquier otro artista británico y tiene le récord asombroso de ganar más premios BRITs  que cualquier otro artista. Ha tenido muchas canciones en el primer puesto incluidas “Angels”, “Rock DJ” y “Something Stupid” y acumuló 55 millones de álbumes vendido alrededor del mundo mientras que para sus giras vio venderse 1,6 millón de entradas en un solo día.

 

Robbie Williasm he hecho un espectacular retorno a los escenarios con el gran éxito de su single “Bodies” extraído de su 8vo. Álbum “Reality Killed The Video Star” el que fue lanzado el 9 de noviembre de 2009 por EMI Virgin Records.

Robbie Williams Triumphantly Returns to pick up the "Outstanding Contribution to Music" Award At the 30th. BRITs Ceremony

 

The UK’s recorded music association, The BPI, gived the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Music Award to Robbie Williams.

 

Robbie Williams has won more BRITs than any other artist. Before the 30th. BRITs Ceremony, Ged Doherty, Chairman of The BRITs Committee said, “Robbie is one of the outstanding artists and performers of his generation. It will be an absolute thrill to have him at the BRITS 30th anniversary show receiving the Outstanding Contribution Award. We are delighted.”

 

With a career spanning twenty chart topping years, Robbie Williams made his first appearance in 1989 as a member of Take That. As a solo artist Robbie’s career went stratospheric selling more albums in the UK than any other British artist and holding the astounding record of winning more BRIT Awards than any other artist – he already has a staggering eleven in total. He carved out a successful run of number one hit songs including ‘Angels’, ‘She’s The One’, ‘Rock DJ’ and ‘Something Stupid’ and amassed over 55 million album sales worldwide while his stadium tours saw 1.6 million tickets being sold in a single day.

 

Robbie Williams has made a spectacular return to the limelight with his hugely successful new single ‘Bodies’ taken from his eighth studio album ‘Reality Killed The Video Star’ which was released on 9th. November 2009 on EMI’s Virgin Records.

 

The BRIT Awards 2010 were proud to have Robbie Williams return to its stage. He was awarded his first BRIT in 1999 for Best British Male Artist and went on to consecutively win more categories for another five years running.
