Sinopsis: Una poderosa ejecutiva editora de gran éxito en Nueva York se verá envuelta en un gran lío cuando amenaza ser deportada a Canadá, su lugar natal. Para no terminar con sus sueños ella deberá decir que está próxima a casarse con un norteamericano. Pero escogerá como novio a su asistente a quien viene torturando desde hace varios años. Este aceptará pero no sin antes hacerla pasar una serie de peripecias. Una boda planeada y un amor a puertas.

Synopsis: A book editor (Sandra Bullock) is forced to marry her male assistant (Ryan Reynolds) in order to stay in the country and not be deported. When they travel to Alaska to meet his family, the new couple has to fake their way through a surprise wedding thrown by his parents.
